Cuba Eats & Sips
A Cuban breakfast is mostly comprised of fresh fruit, coffee and fresh juice.
Lobster enchilada aka my favorite lunch. This lobster sautéed in tomatoes, onions and pepper served with salad, rice and beans (not pictured) is so delicious! Most meals come with rice, beans and fritos (crispy fried green plantain). I was happy to have this every single day :)
A light dinner of grilled mahi mahi with fresh vegetables. Yum
There's a lot of beef, chicken and pork in Cuba as well. I stuck mostly to seafood while I was there.
Grilled calamari with toast. Yes, it's squishy but yummy.
Something about a fresh coconut with a straw that instantaneously invokes joy. This was the most refreshing afternoon drink after a long day of walking around Havana.

Seafood again, yes :) And not for the squirmy at heart since the eyes of the shrimp are staring right back at you but shrimp in the shell has so much flavor and this grilled platter did not disappoint. Cuban rice and beans are delicious and come with every meal. Oh and a cold Presidente or Cristal beer to wash it all down is icing on the cake. Did I tell you I'm a foodie?
Loved how much pride Cuban bartender take in their mixology. Got to appreciate a good cocktail.
Mojito. 'Nuff said.
There are loads of fine dining options. Expect excellent service but be patient with the meal preparation. It takes a bit of time but is worth the wait.
How to caption this Piña Colada? Sunshine in a cup? This cocktail is a special at Restaurant 304 (304 O'Reilly Street, Havana, Cuba) and made with Havana club rum.
Havana has many ice cream shops and stands. This was my favorite flavor of them all - a natural, homemade coconut ice cream served in a coconut shell. Yes, I'm a tropical girl and love all things coconut. This (ice)screams caribbean island ;)
