Disclaimer: I only tried a coupe of things so I can’t call myself an authority on Cambodian cuisine but I did thoroughly enjoy what I tried. Here are some of the basic and more exotic food items I got to see in Cambodia.
Before food, coconuts. Never met a coconut I don’t like :) Also, I saw a lot of women doing farming type responsibilities in Cambodia.
Truly enjoyed this traditional Cambodian curry with seafood. It’s a bit spicy and filled with pumpkin leaves and other vegetables.
It’s served with white rice.
Now, I didn’t try this but I was very curious about it so I asked the lady who was eating it if I could take a picture. It’s essentially small clans that she cooked in a broth.
I also didn’t try this but it’s considered a common snack in Cambodia - peppered maggots
This I tried - fried grasshopper
Eating grasshopper with tissue pieces on my face cause again, it was hot!
fried dough, breakfast food
I definitely tried this roasted banana and it was delicious!
And my fresh coconut drink, so refreshing!
